Jess Reed

After 4 years in door to door sales, Jess began his Real Estate career as

a residential agent in 2012. He quickly amassed over $100m in sales. While growing his business, it became clear that he was still trading hours for dollars. He knew he had to start building passive income so that he wasn’t stuck doing open houses for the rest of his life! His first property was a “house hack”. He bought it as a primary residence (with 5% down) and had two friends that moved in with him. Their rent covered the mortgage and then some. He then began building his single family home investment portfolio.

It wasn’t long before he realized that this had inadvertently become another job. Even with property managers, he was still getting phone calls, approving expenses and repairs, etc… this was not as “passive” as he’d hoped. In 2017, he teamed up with his partner, Ryan Stackhouse. They decided to buy a commercial property together. It went incredibly well and before long they were buying more properties together. Wanting to grow faster, they realized that they would need to start syndicating deals and using other people’s money. And so they began. The rest is history. They currently own 15 properties together with a market value of over $50m.

Jess has sold over $250m in residential real estate and still maintains his real estate license, but refers all of his business out to his team. Jess has also recently begun investing in startup businesses that align with his values and interests. Jess splits his time between Nashville, Florida and Colorado with his wife, Maggie, and their daughter, Frankie.
